1. The Crazy Ones

Synopsis:

1. Simon Roberts, an unorthodox genius with a big personality, heads an advertising agency that has some of the biggest clients in the world. By his side is his partner -- and daughter -- Sydney, who is focused and ambitious but spends more time than she'd like baby-sitting her father. They work with a talented team that includes handsome Zach, neurotic art director Andrew, and deceptively smart assistant Lauren as -- despite their eccentricities -- they continue to take the advertising world by storm.

2. Modern Family

Synopsis: 

1. Told from the perspective of an unseen documentary filmmaker, the series offers an honest, often-hilarious perspective of family life. But a teen who is trying to grow up too fast, another who is too smart for her own good, and a rambunctious young son make it challenging. Claire's dad, Jay, and his Latina wife, Gloria, are raising two sons together, but people sometimes believe Jay to be Gloria's father. Jay's gay son, Mitchell, and his partner, Cameron, have adopted a little Asian girl, completing one big -- straight, gay, multicultural, traditional -- happy family. (now season 6)

3. The Big Bang Theory

Synopsis: 

1. Mensa-fied best friends and roommates Leonard and Sheldon, physicists who work at the California Institute of Technology, may be able to tell everybody more than they want to know about quantum physics, but getting through most basic social situations, especially ones involving women, totally baffles them. How lucky, then, that babe-alicious waitress/aspiring actress Penny moves in next door. Frequently seen hanging out with Leonard and Sheldon are friends and fellow Caltech scientists Wolowitz and Koothrappali. Will worlds collide? Does Einstein theorize in the woods?

4. How I Met Your Mother

Synopsis: 

1. Ted has fallen in love. It all started when his best friend, Marshall, drops the bombshell that he plans to propose to longtime girlfriend Lily, a kindergarten teacher. Suddenly, Ted realizes that he had better get a move on if he hopes to find true love. Helping him in the quest is Barney, a friend with endless -- often outrageous -- opinions, a penchant for suits and a foolproof way to meet women. When Ted meets Robin, he is sure it's love at first sight, but the affair fizzles into friendship. Voice-over by Bob Saget ("Full House") tells the story through flashbacks. As a framing device, Ted, in the year 2030, recounts to his son and daughter the events that led him to meeting their mother.

5. Bones

Synopsis: 

1. Dr. Temperance 'Bones' Brennan, a forensic anthropologist who works at the Jeffersonian Institution and also writes books, has an impressive ability to read clues from victims' bones. Consequently, law enforcement calls her to assist with investigations when remains are so badly decomposed, burned or destroyed that standard identification methods are useless. Brennan often finds herself teamed with Special Agent Seeley Booth, a former Army sniper, who mistrusts science and scientists when it comes to solving crimes but who has developed respect for Brennan, both professionally and personally.
